Other than “who is going to be President?” the most common question asked this week might be “where can I buy a PS5?”

Unfortunately, for the most part, the answer is that you can’t. PS5s are sold out pretty much everywhere, and yet stock is periodically refreshed, so you have to be on your toes. But we also know that Sony is doing a non-live PlayStation 5 launch, as in no retailers will have them on launch day in person (due to the pandemic). This means there will likely be a lot of online stock made available at launch on November 12, Thursday of next week.

So, where should you be watching?

Here’s a list of links you should check regularly to see when they stop saying “Out of Stock” at all times. It’s possible that these get new stock before launch, but I would definitely be checking them launch day at the very least.

I’m not sure if Sony will end up doing more direct sales from their site, but it wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye on it all the same.

Anecdotally, I have heard that people have had the best luck with Amazon and Best Buy in terms of getting pre-orders and having a reasonable delivery window. I cannot say the same for my experience with Target and GameStop, where my delivery range across two consoles has been anywhere from one day late to a week late, but we’ll see when it actually arrives. Meanwhile, my Series X is supposed to come from Amazon literally on launch day.

At a certainly point, it’s possible Sony may just be flat out of stock for PS5s for the rest of the holiday season. I know they’ve kept some in reserve for launch, but they are going to be hard limited by supply at a certain point, as pre-orders are wildly outpacing their expectations and what we saw for the PS4. Add in pandemic concerns about production and it very well might be the case that some people will not be able to get a console until next year. So in short, if you do find that any of these websites has PS5s in stock, I would just jump on it, as if you don’t, someone else will a half second later, and you might be waiting until spring to get one.

I’ll try to keep this updated as more stock is opened up, but it’s going to be a sort of blink and they’re gone situation, so I would be manually checking those links every day.
